Why Injection Presses Require FOSS L-HM 46/68

Injection molding hydraulic systems operate under cyclic clamping pressures exceeding 140–210 bar (2,000–3,000 PSI) with continuous reservoir temperatures between 45°C and 60°C. Lower-grade hydraulic oils degrade rapidly, forming microscopic lacquer, sludge, and varnish that foul servo proportional valves, causing clamping hesitation and shot-to-shot weight inconsistency.

  • Rapid Water Demulsibility: Water separation in under 12 minutes prevents oil milky emulsification caused by cooler condensation or heat exchanger leaks.
  • Thermal-Oxidative Stability: Virgin Group II hydrotreated paraffinic base oil resists high-temperature oxidation, extending typical drain intervals to 4,000–6,000 operating hours.
  • Seal Compatibility: Fully compatible with NBR (Nitrile), FKM (Viton), and Polyurethane piston seals, preventing swelling, hardening, or catastrophic oil line blowouts.
  • Anti-Foam & Air Release: Low foaming (≤ 10/0 ml at 24°C) prevents pump cavitation, noise, and erratic pressure fluctuations.
